Before Theseus entered the Labyrinth, Ariadne handed him a ball of thread — a clew — to unwind as he walked, so that he could always find his way back. Every clue you have ever followed is named after it.
A new labyrinth opens at midnight, the same for everyone, and every labyrinth bears a name. № 001 was ARIADNE.
Each labyrinth unfolds across three panels — its ACTS. Pass through the door at the far wall and the next act begins. Sundays run four.
Send the thread in through the west gate and escape out the far gate of the final act. FLICK and the bead darts down the corridor, resting at every wall and every opening — each turn is yours to call. On a computer, flick with the mouse or use the arrow keys. Flick back along the thread to wind it out of dead ends — on a phone the page turns by itself at each door.
SHORTEST is the shortest possible thread. Match it and yours is a perfect thread ✦.
Record your time once and it stands on the day's board. Solved labyrinths join YOUR THREADS, and any past day can be traced late — off the record.
The week deepens as it goes. Sunday is the trial.
